My story on deviantart art started way back in 2008. I remember searching for Goku x ChiChi (my ultimate otp) fanart on google and in most occasions, the images I would like best directed me to deviantart. It was my first time being in contact with an art community, but the impact was so strong that it was a matter of minutes to decide to join in. At firts my ony intent was to collect faves, but being surrounded by so many talented artists I ended up getting interested in digital art. My first deviations were simple attempts at making my own digital linearts and coloring. I was never an aspiring artist. Art for me was - and still is - just an hobby. Mostly because I lack talent and also because I am a lazy person by person I've never really practiced enough to make real improvement. But my interest by computers and the digital world itself was enough to get me started on digital art. The problem was, back then, I was only familiarized with MS Paint and at even that I was a noob. After a few embarrassing attempts at using MS Paint I "upgraded" my tools for a more complex program - Paint.NET. That was the tool of choice for most of my early "artworks".
By the time I had celebrated my first anniversary as a deviant I had already invested in a graphic tablet and had switched to a more advanced painting program - Paint Tool SAI. Slowly I improved in my technique while I also made friends and shared interests with people who had the same tastes as me. I even started my own group dedicated to my passion - Dragonball - and with that came more responsibility and more people to meet and more beautiful art to see. It wasn't been easy, currently the group is suspended due to my lack of time to manage it and due to lack of the proper tools - an stable, more of less fast internet connection - but I still want to bring my "baby" back.
In the last few years I spent my time meeting new people, working some more to improve my skills and apparently some of that work was worth it. I got some commissions and even won some non-official coloring contests. Of course I'm not at a level I can brag about. I'm still not an artist and that is fine by me. But I can look back and proudly say that I've gone a long way since my beginners days here on DA. Let's hope that another 14 years from now I'll be on a whole different level that I am today. Yes, I'm pretty positive that DA will be around for many, many more years to come. And I have no intentions of leaving this place, because it feels like home. DA has long been part of my life, a good one, and I don't want that to ever change. So let us all meet again and Happy Anniversary DA
